When people from out of town come to look at our cars, we love to point them in the direction of great restaurants or sights to see within the Tempe area before they leave.  Recently, we realized there are few weekend activities as pleasing as going to a restaurant for a relaxing brunch. The weekend is the perfect time to enjoy decadent breakfast and lunch foods with friends and family.

Check out some well-known places that you should try within the Tempe area!

U.S. Egg

Located at 131 East Baseline Rd., U.S Egg is well known for their protein pancakes and their family friendly atmosphere. It has been around since 1986, and lives up to its big reputation for serving the best breakfast within the area.

U.S. Egg is only open until 2:30pm Monday-Sunday, but they serve a variety of options, including gluten free meals! You may want to try their signature dish, the protein pancake (as mentioned above), which is filled with wild Maine blueberries, homemade granola, cinnamon and slivered almonds. You can also enjoy your favorite brunch dish with a traditional mimosa, a tailgate bloody mary or a Greyhound.

NCounter

NCounter is located at 310 South Mill Avenue. It’s self-described as an “American café, delivering breakfast and lunch classis in a low-key, urban-chic space”. This is a great gathering place for friends, family or co-workers looking for a casual/friendly atmosphere.

Brunch is served ALL DAY! At NCounter, you can order a variety of delicious meals made with ingredients, sauces, and spices that transform regular brunch items into craveable dishes. Do yourself a favor and try out the Santa Fe Sauté, which includes chicken, pepper sliced vegies, mushrooms, and melted cheese all wrapped in a flour tortilla. Plus, if you want to avoid the usual crowd, you can also order online.

Snooze An A.M. Eatery

If you’re open to trying different brunch foods, check out the creative breakfast menu at Snooze An A.M. Eatery; located at 615 South College Avenue in Suite #103. Snooze closes at 2:30pm Monday-Sunday, and encourages diners to create custom breakfasts.

Treat yourself to the “Sandwich I Am” entre, which includes a soft pretzel roll filled with scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese and a sausage patty, served with a side of smoked cheddar hollandaise and house made hash browns!  They also have an accompanying creative “morning cocktail” list that features drinks like the Green Tea- Basil Mojito.

In conclusion, any of these restaurants on the list would be a perfect place to recharge and relax! Whether you’re visiting or a local, we hope you go and try them out!
